I work full time as a nuetral, primarily arbitrating and mediating labor and employment law cases. In the last five years I have mediated dozens of Title VII employment discrimination cases, including race, sex, sexual harassment, age and religion claims. I have also mediated cases under the Americans with Disabilities Act and disputes under the Family Medical Leave Act, as well as retailitory discharge cases.

Since 1996 I have been a self-employed arbitrator/mediator. I have specialized in employment disputes and labor and employment arbitration. I have taught courses for the KCMBA on mediatiation and arbitration. I served as President of the KCMBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee in 1997.

I began practicing law in 1979 as a labor and employment attorney. In 1991 I became the elected Jackson County Executive. In 1996 I began arbitrating and mediating. I no longer function as an advocate lawyer; instead I devote my practice to alternative dispute resolution.
