Urethane Antitrust Litigation

Case Summary

This multidistrict litigation (MDL) case includes class actions in which the plaintiffs claim the defendants engaged in unlawful price-fixing conspiracies with respect to urethane chemical products, in violation of the federal antitrust law. The Court has consolidated two sets of cases relating to different types of urethane products: the Polyester Polyol cases, which have been settled; and the Polyether Polyol cases, which have been settled against most defendants, but which continue against one defendant. There are also three ongoing direct action cases brought by a number of plaintiffs who have opted out of the class actions.

The Court has a program that will automatically add hyperlinks to correctly formatted Bluebook cites. While counsel is welcome to add its own hyperlinks to legal citations, it is not necessary. LinkBuilder is a Word add-in that easily adds in links to documents that are already filed in CM/ECF. There is more information on the LinkBuilder page of this website. The District of Nebraska has a guide to hyperlinking that demonstrates how to hyperlink contemporaneously filed documents (attachments) in a brief. There is a version for Word and WordPerfect set forth below.
