Tim O’Brien has been the Clerk of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas since March 2008. For the 23 years immediately preceding, Tim practiced commercial litigation and was a partner at the Shook Hardy & Bacon law firm in Overland Park, Kansas and in Kansas City, Missouri. Tim graduated from the University of Kansas in 1980 with Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from the KU School of Law in 1983 where he was an Associate Editor of the Kansas Law Review. Following law school, Tim was a law clerk for Chief Judge Earl E. O’Connor for the District of Kansas in Kansas City from 1983 through 1985. He served as president of the Kansas Bar Association, is a fellow of the American, Kansas, and Johnson County Bars and was listed in Best Lawyers in America and SuperLawyers while in practice.
