Arrest Warrant Scam Warning

Posted: Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Be aware of a scam that involves a fictitious arrest warrant on a criminal charge sent to an individual, offering a chance to avoid arrest through the payment of a specific amount. While these scams are more prevalent in state and county courts, this particular scheme has occurred in the Western District of New York in the last two weeks.  If you suspect a scam, call the clerk's office immediately to report it.
